Our house was built in 1928 on a prominent hill on nearly 5 acres in the heart of Nebo, NC, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The one-story wrap-around porch offers views of the expansive front and side yards, and the back yard offers winter views of the Black Mountain Range. The house was named Holly Hill because of the numerous holly trees dotting the landscape. This grand home has side gables and a cross front gable with hardwood floors throughout. There is a wheelchair ramp at the side of the house, but the downstairs bathroom is not wheelchair accessible. Our nonprofit, Jason's Getaway, purchased this house in May 2015 and spent over a year renovating it.
Our mission: Jason's Getaway strives to reconnect ALL types of families by providing an affordable, compassionate "home away from home" year round in the foothills of NC.
Even though our focus is on families with special needs we welcome all families and groups. We have a plethora of family friendly activities indoors and outdoors and adults love to have a drink and sit on our front porch. Our caretakers and director are caring, friendly folks who want our guests to have an enjoyable and relaxing stay.
Jason's Getaway is a nonprofit that was incorporated March 2, 2012. We became a 501(c)3 in November 2013 and opened for business July 2016.
Jason's Getaway offers a retreat from your busy lives. But due to demand and recognizing the needs of modern families we offer DirectTV and WIFI.
Food options are available upon request from the director upon making a reservation.
We have a partnership with Brackett Town Farms if your family enjoys learning about and petting farm animals or would benefit from animal therapy. Visit their website at
